Color Report-- Spring 2011

One of my favorite parts of Fashion Week is getting to see Pantone's Color Report for the upcoming season. It is always refreshing and inspirational to see new color combos-- spring is pretty spectacular...

How much fun is that? Fresh and funky--and at the same time reminiscent of a set of Crayola markers I used to own {who are we kidding, I still have them...}
Same thing right? I'm excited to see these colors worked into collections on the runway--looks like it's going to be a playful spring!

PS- I can't wait to tell people that "Regatta" is my new favorite color...

Spring in New York

I finally visited the High Line. Beautiful day.

I love exploring the city... I should really find time to do it more. :)

Style Notebook-the challenge

For some reason I love to "re-define" my style every spring. I think it is just a fancy excuse to go shopping.  This year, however, I do not have much room in my budget for the re-definition project. SO the goal is to find inspirations from designer collection and then find look-a-like pieces for cheap.
Today's challenge? See by Chloe Summer 10

I really love this whole collection, it is the perfect mix of polish and casual ease--just what I need in my life.
 Stay tunned for my budget friendly interpretation... :)

Spring = love, love, love

{via amourtendre}

Spring break might be over--but spring has really started now. Baseball is back. And thought I am thousands of miles away from my home team and have to make do with broadcasts of Red Sox/Yankees nail-biters--it's still baseball, and it always makes me smile.

Bright, balloon filled rooms also make me smile. Just not quite as much as baseball...

dreamed vacation

This week started off full of rainy mornings. The kind of mornings that make you wish you could stay under the covers forever. Banana Pancake mornings. Sadly- even thought it’s spring break- I still have to pull myself out of bed and splash through the puddles to work.

Sigh.

But even the (oh so close to) record breaking rainfall this month can’t keep me from dreaming of glorious sun-filled getaways. And lucky for me Sunday’s T Magazine was full of spring travel hot spots to jump-start my imagination.

Hawaii... let's go.

dreamy stripes and flowers

I've been noticing a trend for spring-- and I love it-- stripes paired with floral prints. Sweet, yet spunky.

Darn you Punxsutawney Phil for predicting 6 more weeks of winter-- it's so much more fun to get dressed in the spring.

winter to spring

yes, spring seems to be a common thread here this month. as if we thought is wasn't going to come this year, sometimes it feels that way. last week i realized that i took a picture of the same bush in ft tryon park in january and april:

snow and red berries, replaced by pink flowers and daffodils. magic.

spring?

i'm sitting in my office, in the student union building, watching the most beautiful trees start to bloom, very slowly.

it's going to be so pretty. it's also like watching my impending death... since i'll be able to enjoy the flowers for about three days before the allergy induced asthma sets in and i have to hide until June.

here are some pics of the spring here, from our Easter "photo-shoot" freshmen year... maybe we'll do another one this year... because it's the last chance?
